Polished brass ring formed in the Ghanaian adinkra symbol of “Sankofa” (heart shape). 

The symbol serves as the foundation of the Ashanti tribe meaning “one must go back and fetch it” .. Or loosely translated “To move forward, one must learn from the past.”
